Gert rid of the G.skill memory and get Corsair, Crucial, Kingston or A data. G Skill had major quality and compatibility issues. Your hard drive choice is one of the worst too. Go for a Western digital black. I'll leave it up to others for any further changes.

Yes, buy a second 4 gig module as a 2 DIMM kit. This way you get the dual channel effect. Or buy two, 2 gig DIMM's if you only want 4 gigs total. RAM is inexpensive enough now, I would get 8 gigs total.

Pick a high quality graphics card manufacturer. If you can find one, EVGA offers a lifetime warranty if you register it within a month of purchase.
Video Card Rating

Asus also makes good optical drives if you don't like Sony and some of the things they have done to consumers. That's just my own personal beef with Sony.

I'm not sure offhand on if you need dual channel ram, so I will leave the memory clarification up to others. However, you chose a green drive and it should be black. Greens have lower power consumption and might be okay for a secondary drive for things with less disk activity, but aren't recommended for the boot drive. The blacks have a five year warranty and are more durable. You should be able to find a 1TB black .

If your budget is tight, which I did not realize, all you need is one hard drive at 1 TB or less and 4 gigs of RAM as two, 2 gig DIMMs.

Agreed with Quartet, get a WD Black drive with 64 megs of buffer memory and 6 Gb/sec data transfer rate. The Greens are more suitable for data storage where you want quiet and less heat and are less suitable as your boot drive because they are slower than the Blacks.

Ive modified the first post in which i am possible to buy now. This is probaly the maximum i could go as i have to get a mouse and keyboard.
Does it matter about the 2GBx2 RAM would the 4GB by itself affect it?

The 2x2 will perform better than the single 4gb. Dual channel!

Does memory affect gaming? as would i have to have less quality? also would it be worth it to get 2x4GB's and just leave it as that? or get the 2x2GB?

Memory does affect gaming but relatively nothing compared to how your graphics card affects your gaming. If you have a limited budget, sink your money into your graphics card and go with two DIMM's at 2 gigs each. No games require more than 4 gigs of memory. As both glc and I said...get two DIMM's so you have the dual channel effect. Whether that is two or four gigs each is your choice.

You don't need more than the stock cooler that came with your CPU if your are not going to do more than a mild overclock. That CPU is plenty fast and you really don't need to overclock it for gaming because your graphics card will be your bottleneck for games. It sounds like you need to save money so in your case don't waste it on an aftermarket CPU cooler. Put that same money into your graphics card.

Use the temperature monitoring software that came with your motherboard's driver disk. That's as accurate as you will get.

Maybe go back to the WD Black drive?

Samsung HDs are not recommended here.

I have had a lot of problems with this motherboard and it is not an Asus issue, it is a chipset issue, unless you must have the newest (not necessarily the best) technology build with an 1156 platform instead of the 1155!
