It boots now. Loaded everything up. But it randomly crashes. 1st time was loading the Asus driver disk. The next time when I was running a performance check. I think its the harddrive. I didn't put the new one in yet cause I have to get parts to do so.

Download the drivers off the website. Don't bother with the disks.

Download WD Diags and Memtest86+, and run diagnostics on the hard drive and the ram. Check your CPU temperatures.

Confirm - you ran at least 2 passes with memtest86+ with no errors, and both hard drives pass WD Diags extended test?

4 Memtests and 0 errors. 5 altogether. I don't know what it may be. It boots now but still randomly crashes. I wonder if its a previous program crashing the system.

Is it blue screening? If so, download and run this (WhoCrashed), it may isolate the problem.Resplendence Software - WhoCrashed, automatic crash dump analyzer

Its not bluescreening. Just like shutting off with the power still on. Nothing on the screen. Just blackness. I'll try this too.

flashing red light means and issue with memory. Follow the instructions in the manual for the mem ok switch.
Is that memory on the QVL?
Have you been unlocking cores?
Have you tried to reset the BIOS?
Have you looked into updating the BIOS?

Sorry for all the questions but I suspect a BIOS upgrade may be in order. I would contact Asus

Well I solved the red light issue. I re-insert the memory and it worked properly.
That particular mem, is not on the QVL. At least not in the manual. I have to check the list on the site.
I haven't unlocked cores yet.
No i haven't reset bios. And maybe i need to.
Yes i been updating the board, could the old Bios from my previous board cause any problems?
I pretty much kept my old Harddrive as the boot drive so all the files and programs are still there could any of them be interfering?

Thanks!

You bet! It's possible to move a drive and get it to boot, but it's generally better to get a fresh start. You have all those old drivers still hanging around.

Is there a way to do this and keep my files and some programs?

Smile ASUS Motherboard

The blinking light on your ASUS motherboard is an interesting feature. I recently had the same problem. The blinking light was a mystery to me. I looked in the manual and found out that the blinking light means that your memory is not compatable with the motherboard. If the memory is compatable the light will stop blinking. It eliminates a lot of guesswork. I could be wrong but I am probably right.

You did not answer my questions in the previous post.

Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers loaded. Make sure you have the latest video card, sound, and lan drivers as well. Double check device manager for the currently installed driver numbers for the above devices.

You may want to look into a BIOS update.
