Will windows 7 oem install on a usb?

Hey everyone!

I've seen numerous suggestions for this windows 7 oem:

Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - Operating Systems

will this install on a usb?
what's the difference between this and windows 7 upgrade or windows 7 full version as sold in the stores?

Thanks,
B

The only difference is there is no tech support from Microsoft, it will install from usb just like any other version.

Here is the link for directions on installing Windows 7 on a thumb drive
Maximum PC | How To: Install Windows 7 from a USB Key!

Windows 7 Upgrade requires Vista previously installed.

Windows Full Version, retail: Full phone support, no additional features over OEM

Winows OEM: No phone support, full Operating system.

Thanks for the information. I've never actually used Microsoft phone support. My computer experience has always been: find the answer online, ask someone in person, or reformat.

Thank you again for your help.

New Windows user here. Anybody found lack of phone support from MS to be a problem? Can anyone foresee a situation where they'd be the only ones able to help?

Yes, when you have activation issues.

Even with OEM, they will help you with activation issues.
