Memory compatible concern

New member and my first post.

My mobo is GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

My CPU is Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

I haven't order neither of this two items but I will in a week. So far I have my case, power supply, and 2tb HDD. I am suppose to receive my memory I order tomorrow. But for some reason I feel I order the wrong memory.

My memory is G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

The reason why I believe I order the wrong memory is, that I was on the Intel site looking up my CPU. I noticed on the spec it said, Memory Types DDR3-1066/1333

Intel® Core

My cousin recommend this memory G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

But for some reason I felt the sniper g skill was better. Did I do the wrong move and will have to return my memory and order a different one or will I be ok with the sniper G skill I already order?

I am about to order my asus 24" monitor right now as well.

It will probably post. Stability will be the issue and to be determined upon use. The memory is not on the QVL so it is a toss up. Your friends suggestion may have been a better choice based on the QVL but reality here in this forum suggests a different brand for stability and reliability.

I might end up returning it as soon as it gets her for a different one.

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

you need to be careful when handling them, the heat-sinks are fragile. Great memory, overclock-able, and very stable. Guaranteed by Corsair. XMP.

Awesome link sounds really good! The price is crazy. I have a coupon as well. Still looking to see what others will advice to go with. I will hold my order for the memory until I am sure what to order.

The 1600 Vengeance is the best ram for that board.

You just got two reccomendations from the staff for the same memory modules. I wouldn't go with anything else.
