Build advice for Gaming/work rig

I'll be building a new PC for gaming and my tool designing business.

This is what I've picked out so far:

HAF-932 case

Corsair HX-750w power supply

Intel I-7 2600k 3.4ghz cpu

Asus Sabretooth mobo

Noctua NH-U12p SE cpu cooling fan

8gb Corsair Dominator 1600mhz 1.65v memory

500 gb Western Digital Blue (7200) (16mb) hard drive(I use separate hard drive for Auto-cad)

EVGA GTX 580 3gb video card

MS windows 7 home premium OS

I'm interested in what you guys think about this set up and especially if you've got any suggestions as to better value options.

Thanx,

med

I will let someone else recomend a motherboard to you. I have not built many machines with the Z68 chipset yet but that is the newest from Intel and the one the guys here are recomending!

Consider SSD since you are willing to spend so much on CPU and GPU, if not this Newegg.com - HITACHI Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723015BLA642 (0F12114) 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive or this Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive will be a better option. I like the Hitachi better myself but on this forum we recomend WD over anything else.

I would go with this board. Impressive board. I will be honest, I had two bad boards in a row but it was a fluke and the BIOS has matured since. Asus was great at handling the issue. Board at my door the next day. Come to find out, someone shipped me the wrong board the second time. The third board was absolutely perfect. Stable and fast.

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO

Corsair Vengeance is the best memory as well.

In spite of the higher cost, I'd go with the WD Black because of the longer warranty. This is going to be a moot point pretty soon because WD is in the process of buying out Hitachi's hard drive division.

Concur on the ram - the best ram for a P67/Z68 is 1.5 volt ram that supports Intel XMP.

GLC, the Hitachi supports 6gb/s and has 64mb cache over the WD black's 3gb/s and 32mg cache. And the Hitachi supplies more space.

Would you still reccomend the Black? Just curious.
