New SLI-PC Build Help

I just built a new PC a week ago and realized that the graphics card bandwidth is being Limited because I put it in a PCI Express x16 1.1 Slot (The card is PCI Express 2.0 x16) So I have decided to build a new pc in a month or two after I get payed from my summer job...and before I continue, let me list my current PC specs.

GPU - MSI 560 TI Twin Frozr II
CPU - AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 ghz overclocked to 3.8 ghz
RAM - Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz (1 stick)
PSU - Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus Series 500W ATX12V V2.3
Motherboard - Gigabyte M68MT-SP2
HDD - 2X250gb 7200 RPM
OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Ok, So i'm planning to get another MSI 560 ti Graphics card, an Intel Core i7-2600k, another stick of the same RAM...Now all I need is to pick out a new power supply and motherboard, any suggestions?

EDIT-I'm looking at this motherboard right now, NVIDIA nForce 740i SLI, is it any good?

Why do you need a new processor? For gaming the processor you have is more than enough, just get this motherboard Newegg.com - ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard and you are good to go!

Absolutely not, you can use a dual core AMD 255 and not get bottle necking, 85% of the processing load when you are gaming is on the video cards!
It is your money to waste but that Phenom II you got is way more than enough!

ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
Newegg.com - ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

Get another matching stick of RAM

Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W
Newegg.com - Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

I would consider a single NVidia card over an SLI chipset on an AMD board any day.

Wow, thanks guys
But what if I want the i7 2600k to future-proof my system, what would be a good motherboard in that case?

Your not going to future proof. That is a great CPU and besides, the alternative is a heck of lot cheaper and will give you as long a life as that Sandy Bridge and less headaches. Another thing is you will still be able to upgrade (not that you will need it) to a 6 core and add additional memory. Like Khalil said, your current CPU is far from a bottle neck scenario.
