Right build for a graphic design and media pc??

So I decided at the last minute before i even finish building my pc that I would like to go to school for graphic design, instead of Auto Technology. Graphic design was my first choice but somehow i got distracted and decided to pursue a different career but now I realize what would be a better choice.

So far what I have is :

Newegg.com - Rosewill DESTROYER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, comes with Three Fans-1x Front Blue LED 120mm Fan, 1x Top 120mm Fan, 1x Rear 120mm Fan, option Fans-2x Side 120mm Fan, 1x Top 120mm Fan, 1x Bottom Fan

Newegg.com - RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS 730W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Modular LED Power Supply

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG EcoGreen F4 HD204UI 2TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Newegg.com - Asus VE248H Black 24" 1920X1080 2ms Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 10,000,000:1

The following list below is what I am planning to get:

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

I know I dont have any graphic cards mention here yet, but I would like to know am I on the right path in building a pc for my graphic design needs?

What else would you guys suggest? My pc would be for graphic design and media stuff no gaming really.

Avoid Samsung hard Drives. get a western Digital instead. Raidmax is not recomended either. Quality Power Supplies are, Antec, Seasonic & Corsair.
For Graphics and no gaming Newegg.com - ATI 100-505606 FirePro V4800 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Well I already have those items. I only bought one Samsung HDD it had good reviews I figure it would work great. Same goes for power supply. So let's see how they end up working. I'm assuming my pcu, mobo are good then.

I hear good stuff from asus too but I would go with either brand whoever can provide a good mobo for the right price for me. What asus mobo would you recommend?

That is a very nice entry-level 3D graphics card for the money.

I know you already have them, and I know your trying to put this computer together on a budget, but if there is anyway to take them back you can get a quality product for close to the same price. You are skimping on 2 of the most important parts of your computer, if the PSU fails it can take the whole computer with it, if you get lucky it might just take the motherboard, if you get real lucky it might not take anything else. If the HDD fails you run the risk of loosing every piece of data on it, even if you can run a recovery program you are not guaranteed to get back any data that you want.

Exactly. It's difficult to trust that power supply, but you can keep the hard drive for a storage drive if you buy an additional drive for your OS and programs - I recommend a SATA 6.0 Western Digital Black drive for that.

I agree with returning both as well. That Power Supply is very low quality and you are asking for problems. The same goes for the hard drive. Occasionally people do get lucky but it is not worth it in my opinion. I repair way too many custom built PC's with hardware such as that in it, not good results (high cost repair) for the customer.

Ok forget about it I'm returning them. I hear to many negative comments about it. That instead of loosing $20 now than loose over $1k later.

That's the perfect way to look at it, I would much rather spend an extra 50$ to save me from loosing data and or having to start over.

Your case and monitor are fine - keep those. Where you could save some money is with that Gigabyte motherboard - in fact, both Gigabyte and MSI have even cheaper Z68's. The Asus is a great board but I don't think you necessarily need to spend $200 on a motherboard.

Well the only difference between this 2 mobos so far correct me if im wrong is the asus is about $23 more with free shipping and it also has bluetooth.

Between this 2 mobo if im highly better off with the asus then i dont mind paying $23 more.

So I need to come down on a final decision for my mobo if i go with asus what ram should i go with?

Any recomendations on power supply? I kind of like corsair so i got a couple in mind im going to post to see if I can go with my new choices.

The Corasir Vengence you already selected will work. To save some money you could go with a 2 X 2gb set but depending on the programs you want to run (and how many), it may not be a viable option.

The mods like Corsair and Antec for power supplies.

But I'd wait and get confirmation form one of them for your direct needs.

So it will still work with either mobo?

Get a Z68 board from Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI that has the features you want. More expensive DOES NOT necessarily mean better.

If you are not installing a high end gaming card, both of those PSU's are overkill. Choose a video card first, then we can advise you on power supplies.

OK I finally got a break from work my car is at the mechanic shop story of my life.

So I decided I want the Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I like the features a lot bluetooth, flexible easy bios, GPU boost etc..

It doesn't have IEEE, or display port only things I hate about it.

This mobo being chosen I been told I can still use this ram Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

I got recommended this card Newegg.com - ATI 100-505606 FirePro V4800 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card I would like to start with this one. While I start school and practice around at home and later on upgrade to a better card.

What you guys think?? I still need to pick a PSU. By the way the ram is on SALE right now!

Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

That should be a big enough power supply for that card and whatever future card you will end up getting. You might even be able to get away with lower PSU as well.

The V4800 only needs a 350 watt PSU.

That Earthwatts is a very good PSU, but for only $10 more after rebate, I'd get this one to allow for an upgrade to any single card made:

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

I like this advice the fact that in a future upgrade I don't have to spend again so soon in another PSU.

I am going to go ahead and order my ram since is on sale right now. I am looking around for my HDD. My main HDD where my programs would go including windows I would like it to be 1TB and up. I been looking at the WDD green and black. Still looking around on the HDD.

I recommend a Black for a main hard drive. Get a SATA 6.0 version with 64mb cache. Greens are designed to be storage drives.

Guys I know I got recommended the black version vengeance which is this one Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

But this blue version that I compared looks exactly the same on specs other then the color is different or am I wrong and the black one is still the best? Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

The reason I ask is because the blue one is on a GOOD special deal
