Low Cost MB/CPU/RAM upgrade

Looking for suggestions for a low cost MB/CPU/RAM upgrade.

The computer is used for internet brousing and checking email. Maybe a little word processing. The old MB/CPU is toast and the signle stick of ram is DDR2. I could buy a crappy little Dell for about $350 or so, but thought that I could probably upgrade for less.

Low cost means cheap, would like to stay under $200 and even lower if possible. Oh, and the board needs video because I dont have a video card laying around.

I have burner, HD, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and OS. The power supply will be an older 500w Antec Earthwatts. It is about 6 years old but is still working fine. Will buy the parts from Newegg

Do you have a micro center within driving distance of where you live?

You can buy an AMD motherboard / cpu combo Phenom II X2 560 / Biostar A780l3g for 90.00, ram 2Gb (2x1) crucial DDR3 1333 for 30.00, hard drive hitachi 500Gb for 40.00, and a case linkworld lc323 for 20.00. total 180.00

I have nothing within "easy" driving distance of where I live. Generally do any computer parts shopping on the web. Ususally from Newegg, although for a low budget upgrade like this I would be willing to order from just about anywhere.

I dont need case and/or HD, just need MB/CPU/Ram.

Newegg.com - BIOSTAR A780L3L AM3 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor ADX250OCGMBOX
Newegg.com - Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR1066D3N7K2/4G

The AMD dual core is an excellent performer for what you are looking to do, hopefully this is what you looking for!

And in the interest of fairness, here is an Intel alternative:

Newegg.com - ASUS P5G41T-M LX LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - Intel Celeron E3400 Wolfdale 2.6GHz 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80571E3400

Same ram. Your upgrade path will be very limited.

Thank you Khlil and glc for the feed back. Not worrying about an upgrade path, just need to get the second computer back on line. In another year or so I will build a replacement gaming machine so then my current rig will become the back up. But for now it still runs great and money is tight so just trying to get the second computer back up and runninig. One computer in the house is just not cutting it.

The main reasons I posted is because everytime I shop for the parts I find myself steadily upgrading and ending up with much more computer than I need. So figured if I got a few suggestions of what would be the minimum that will work I can just order the parts and put it together.
