new to building a computer...need advice on these parts
I have decided to try to build my own computer. I am going to use the current tower I have and just replace most of the hardware.
Currently I have picked out the items below but I don't really know if they are all compatible...I was hoping you guys could send me in the correct direction. Also I have NO idea on what graphic card(s) to use. I don't fully understand the difference between them all and how powerful they are. The games I would like to play on this computer are world of warcraft, sc2, and the upcoming skyrim, all at maxed out setting of course. So will these items below allow me to do this? CPU: Intel Core i7 Processor i7-2600K motherboard: ASUS LGA 1366 - Intel X58 - True USB 3.0 & SATA 6Gb/s - ATX Motherboard P6X58D-E RAM: No idea...i don't understand the compatibility stuff, i tried to look it up but just became confused. Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2 GB Pwr supply: COOLMAX CUL-750B 750W So is everything compatible? or am i just completely off? Also can I use duel graphics cards on the motherboard? or is that a single one only? any advice/help is appreciated. |

Can you please post links. Like from newegg or tigerdirect, or some other online store that sells computer parts.

CPU I'm guessing this is what you want from what I can understand. NOW, do keep in mind i'm still very new to this myself. So, don't take my words, till someone else comes in and corrects me. But I already see a problem. I do know, when the guys who know 10x more them me come in here. You do need to specify a price range, and what the computer is gonna be used for, but I'm pretty sure you already covered the what it's used for part. Also, what case are you using now? Quote:

To use that CPU you would need a board with LGA 1155. Once again, I may be wrong, so, let's wait and see what everyone else says. Last edited by glc; 07-18-2011 at 10:04 AM. Completely off. Please tell us your budget. Also, what exact brand and model is your current case and any other components you want to reuse?
