Divorce Sabertooth - Marry Z68?
So Z68 is all the P67 was supposed to be? I'm willing to swap out because this thing only likes stock. However, I read at Newegg Z68 still has the "boot-o-rama" when trying to o/c. That's the onliest reason I upgraded to begin with to P67, to do some serious o/c and bought hefty cpu coolers, which have done me no good except for a little "tweak". So, give me the thumbs up and I'll migrate over as long as I can still use cpu and ram.

It works but not worth anywhere what I put into it. I have other PCs and a laptop that will function. If I put alot of $$ into something, I want results. It all goes back to the '68 Camaro SS 396, 375 hp I had. Baddest car in Dallas and every cop in east Dallas knew me by name; some wanted to drive it when off duty. So I don't mind spending $$ on top-notch stuff. I can buy regular but I like the best and when I have a stack of parts called regular, including this PC, what's the use?? A room is stocking good stuff maybe for others but I'm fed up with looking at all of it. Is hard to get a recommend for the best stuff evidently, 'cause it changes every damn week.

Have you tried overclocking it manually? I don't think the board does the reboot cycle when you go in and overclock it yourself. If you are unhappy with the board, then I see no reason not to upgrade it.

Sarge,
I love your enthusiasm. You are an overclock-er and I challenge you to beat the mark you previously posted with a Z68 chip set. |

My P67 chipset does not do the reboot thing and it is manually overclocked. It did do it when I tried it in the automated overclock. Specs are in my signature.

Am sure I may have it in the 1-inch stack of prints from all the sites during my o/c venture, but what is difference between manual and automated overclock, and how do you do it? Once the dust settles I may get back into it. |

Sarge,
From the UEFI settings (what used to be called the BIOS) go to advanced settings (in the upper right hand corner), go to the AI Tweaker and watch this video. These guys make it look easy, which it really is. Newegg TV: Sandy Bridge Overclocking & UEFI Demo on ASUS P8P67 P67 1155 - YouTube |

Good luck with your other issues Sarge, when you get a chance and things settle down overclock that bad boy manually and let us know how fast it is.
