How does this setup look?
I plan to use this primarily for work functions, with some light gaming. I intend to use my existing case, power source and video cards. I run 4 monitors, so I need a MB that supports 2 vid cards. My budget is about $750.
So will this setup work together? Wrong board for that processor. 2 different sockets! What does light gaming mean? Solitair? Or occasionaly playing 3D games?
Onboard video won't hack it for any kind of gaming other than browser games like miniclips or the built in windows games. What is your existing power source? Is it certified for this hardware? Here is the motherboard I recomend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128501 You Do Not need a CPU cooler, the standard from Intel works great.

If he uses that Gigabyte board, his second video card is only going to run at x4.
Just how light is the gaming? You may want to get a quad-head workstation card to keep it simple. Newegg.com - ATI 100-505532 FirePro 2450 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Multi-View Workstation Graphics Accelerator - Bulk - Professional Graphics / Video Cards |

Sorry wasn't clear on my gaming. I mean things like COD, MOH, NFS and the like. They all play fine on my current setup but I will upgrade my vid cards down the road, just don't want to send the $ on them now.
Current vid cards are NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+, not the newest cards but they both seem to work fine for my current needs. Current power source is: OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply Newegg.com - OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply If this isn't compatible with this build I'm OK buying a new one. But if my current vid cards aren't compatible I don't think I have the budget for 2 new ones, I'll need to make my existing system last a bit longer until I have the budget to replace them also. |

That's true - just saying.
That FirePro is not a gaming card. You will be fine with your list and Khalil's suggested motherboard, but if you are going to use that cooler, replace that Vengeance ram with their low-profile version. If you want a Z68 motherboard with more features, look at the other models from Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI. |
