Motherboard for Intel Core i5-760

Hi folks, I've got a Intel Core i5-760 (LGA1156) sitting on a shelf and I'm thinking of using it for a cheap gaming computer, but I've got a few questions:
1 What would be a good motherboard for this cpu?
2 My case(COOLER MASTER Storm Enforcer) will fit either ATX or micro ATX, and since I'm seeing a lot more micro ATX boards for this processor would there be a disadvantage to using one in a gaming computer?
Thanks in advance.

1. Pick a motherboard that you like with an Asus 1155 socket and Z68 chipset. http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...1155/Intel_Z68

2. There is not really any advantage to a micro ATX board unless you are short the room. You case will work fine with a standard sized ATX board.

Why don't you go ahead and create a parts list for your build so the experts can over it?

David, he has a 1156 socket CPU

BIOSTAR H55 HD LGA 1156 Intel H55
Newegg.com - BIOSTAR H55 HD LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

or

ASUS P7H55-M LX LGA 1156
Newegg.com - ASUS P7H55-M LX LGA 1156 Intel H55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

You typically have a few more features with an ATX board and I prefer them but in reality for what your intent is, the mATX will suite your needs.

It's still up in the air but right now I'm looking at

cpu cooler: Noctua NH-U12P SE2 (already own)
cpu Intel core i5-760 (already own)
Mobo: Newegg.com - BIOSTAR H55A+ LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI ATX Intel Motherboard Thanks jdeb, I hadn't even considered Biostar before.
HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WDBAAZ0010HNC-NRSN 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
video card: Newegg.com - MSI N460GTX Hawk GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
power supply: Newegg.com - CORSAIR Professional Series HX650 (CMPSU-650HX) 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
optical drive: Newegg.com - Sony Optiarc CD/DVD Burner 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model AD-7260S-0B - CD / DVD Burners
As far as ram I usually just pick whatever Crucial recommends from their selector.

The price difference is so minimal I highly recomend you stick to Asus over Biostar, better components and QC with the Asus motherboard.

Looks good with either board, yes Asus boards are a higher quality but with that being said, I have had no issues with that Biostar board. Good selection on other components. For what it is worth I prefer EVGA for NVidia cards.

EVGA 01G-P3-1371-TR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express

I'm trying to avoid Asus now, after the last time I had to talk to their tech support. So I think I'll give the Biostar a shot.
