Can someone help me pick heatsink/fan ?

Hey guys.

I have a PC I use for about everything. Mainly I have dual display using Office while watching TV on the other for my job here. Play games every now and then.. a little video editing as well for the job.

So I built my computer and since I decided no need to overclock it I just stuck with the stock heatsink/fan. Now that I am all set up I am beginning to realize it is a little louder than what I would like.

Can anyone give me a couple better options to go with that would give me a more silent heatsink/fan ? CPU temp really concerns me so honestly I would try to deal with the noise if it meant my CPU would run hotter, but I am guessing there are plenty of options after market that would actually run cooler and more quiet.... I also want something relatively easy to install so I don't want to get into water cooling etc....

Comp specs:
AMD X6 1090T
Asus Crosshair IV Formula mobo
Lian-Li PC-K62 case (which I wonder just how loud those big fans are inside
*pretty sure more noise coming from stock heatsink/fan though)

I also have an older computer which I want to use, but can't because the thermaltake heatsink/fan is so insanely loud.

Specs are

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Asus K8N-E Deluxe
Liami-Li PC-82 case

Any heat sink with a larger fan will run quieter and probably cooler than the stock heat sink fan. That's the whole idea.

If you want cheap and good I would go with the first one jdeb recommended.

There are also others that are designed to be super quiet like this one...

A few more ideas...

Thanks guys.. I was really looking into the hyper 212...seems like everyone rec's it..

My one concern was that it looked like it may be a bit hard to install ? Any idea of the difficulty ? I have built almost 20 PC's which isn't much for some, but I still find myself not wanting to mess around in there more than I have to once I have it working perfect, lol.

That zalman looks good.. I have heard good things about that brand too..not sure about the exact model though. I think if I spent that much I would be better off going the Noctua NH-D14 route which I keep hearing as pretty much the best with cooling/noise combo...Again though that hyper you guys like only 30$ seems like the way to go..I just had no clue about the noise level is all, and it looks big/complicated lol (On other hand Noctua looks pretty big as well..I have never put together a heatsink/fan as far as screwing it in.. Have either used stock fans or the aftermarket ones I have install have just come already assembled and I was able to just "lock it in" like the stock fan.

**jdeb for that roswell you posted for my older comp.. would that be ok if I had it overclocked a bit ? I know at one point I had that PC overclocked.
Thanks for the comments..

I think the Hyper 212 is easy to install but some have problems with it. Follow the instructions carefully, take your time. Here is a video to help you a bit as well. He is using a Intel but you will get the idea.

That Rosewill is very underrated, excellent and yes you can moderately overclock with it. If you want a slightly better cooler and want to spend the money... however, I would go with the Rosewill because I am not a serious overclocker
