Upgrading my current set-up

I have intentions of playing GuildWars2 in the future and i currently play Starcraft2. I highly doubt the system requirements will change much between wings of libery and heart of the swarm. So i guess im looking for advice on what to upgrade first and what brands are doing good these days. My current set up is over 2 years old at this point i think getting closer to 3 years old. Since most if not all of my warranties have expired i have overclocked the cpu and video cards to get a little more i would say life out of them but more like performance.

e8400 @ 3.8
gigabyte ep45-ud3p
Antex basiq 500w psu
4gb ddr-800 corsair

Thats pretty much the core of my computer. I plan on keeping my current case which is the antec 300. It is modified with about half of the hard drive cage removed so a oversized video card will fit. And if i not i will modify the case to make it fit .

I was thinking that a video card would be teh best place to start because my computer hard locks sometimes will playing sc2. It tends to be really random but i notice it tends to happen right before realyl large battle happen. Tends to be right when i go to fungal/neural it crashes lol. Which is terrible but ok. Any advice/input is greatly appreicated.

What video card do you currently have? If you just want to upgrade for gaming, you will probably be fine with your current cpu and probably will benefit most from an updated video card. What kind of budget do you have?

A significant video card upgrade would probably require a power supply upgrade too, especially if you are overclocking.

I currently have a 4670 that is begining to circle the drain. Looking to spend 100 to 150 on the video card. The next game on my list is guild wars 2 but I honestly don't care to run games at max or do any video encoding. As long as it will play guildwars 2 on low to medium and stream movies to my tv I'm happy.

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

Your power supply JUST meets minimums.

Will that work on my current board? The ep45-ud3p only has 2.0 and i was just under the impression that it was backwards compatible but not forward compatible if that makes sense.

Also what vendors are doing well on power supplies these days. I've been thinking about going ahead and upgrading it when i do the video card. I had set a budget of about $100 for the psu seeing as i dont have the need for modular psu or anything like that. I was thinking a 650w psu would pretty much handle the newer cpus but probably not sli or crossfire which i dont intend on doing.

How are amd's liano processors? Which processors would you guys recommend for a low to mid end gaming/home entertainment computer?

I'm looking to upgrade my computer piece by piece. Starting with video card and psu. Then doing board, ram and cpu all at once.

That card will work fine on your current board.

This PSU is a heck of a deal with the rebate:

Newegg.com - Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-620 620W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
