Go to Newegg, find each item and then copy and paste the URL for each item. You can also copy and paste the items description. That makes it easiest for everyone.

Yes, exactly. I thought you wanted to spec out a new build.

Here we go, I am almost done with the build but I am really concern of some things.
My case states if my mobo is an ATX motherboard I don't need to install any standoffs. All thought my case came with standoffs but I didn't put em on. I already place it on the case and screw it down with the right mobo screws is this ok?? I check my manual to locate my jumpers and the only jumpers I see is the RTC RAM and it alread came with the right default position so I didn't touch it. I am assuming since my mobo is more of a recent products and not old is the only jumper I should worry about??? My case came with one eSATA on the front, on which Serial ATA connector do I plug it on? I have SATA 3g and SATA 6g. |

Why don't you go ahead and spec it out here so everyone has the big picture?
You cannot screw your board directly to the motherboard tray without standoffs...period. They are there for a couple very good reasons....so your board does not ground out and so it does not flex. You need as many standoffs as your motherboard has holes for them....for most ATX boards it is 9. Which jumpers exactly? Save your 6Gb/sec motherboard SATA connectors for your 6Gb/sec hard drives. There are no eSATA peripheral devices that work at 6Gb/sec that I am aware of. The 3Gb/sec mobo connectors will work fine for that Last edited by David M; 08-13-2011 at 05:35 PM. |

I wrote it on my signature, I don't know why is not showing up but here it is.
APC P11VNT3 -- Asus VE248H 24" -- Rosewill Destroyer -- Corsair 650TX -- Asus P8z68-V PRo -- I7 2600K -- Corsair Vengeance 8GB LP -- WD CB 2TB SATA 6.0Gb -- Asus PCE-N13 PCI Wireless Adapter I am confuse then so that means the case manual is garbage. My case only came with 3 standoffs and with enough mobo screws. |

You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and press save...its easy to overlook this.
![]() Did you look through all the packaging for more standoffs? If you only have three standoffs, you have no choice, you have to get all nine. Fry's, Newegg and Amazon all sell standoffs and screws. Your case manual counts for only a portion of what you need to read. Your computer build Bible is your motherboard manual. Use that as your guide to build your computer...verbatim. Last edited by David M; 08-13-2011 at 05:55 PM. |

I did David, I hit save if you go to my profile you can see it. But when I post you can't.
I am going to Microcenter then, I am trying to see what else I am missing. Any reminders of anything I may need, cables for my HDD I got. |

Some cases have raised bosses instead of standoffs.

Which do you have Bronx?
I looked up the case...I can't tell. I see what looks like one raised boss. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageG...%20120mm%20Fan Read carefully what your case manual says about this. Last edited by David M; 08-13-2011 at 06:06 PM. |

Good thing I took pictures hopefully you can see this one right. I am assuming the raise bosses are those raise mountain looking thing. It originally came with one standoff in the middle of the mobo area but I took it off I was having problems aligning my mobo right.
Bro I just wrote exactly what the case manual says on one of my post, "My case manual states if my mobo is an ATX motherboard I don't need to install any standoffs. All thought my case came with standoffs but I didn't put em on. I already place it on the case and screw it down with the right mobo screws is this ok??" |

Every place you put in a screw has to have a raised boss or a standoff under it. Do not install a standoff under the board unless there's a corresponding hole.

Yea every hole I put a screw has a raised thing. But I don't get how would this also prevent from my mobo being ground. If the raise thing is touching my case unless the material is different of the raise thing.

Connect your SATA 6.0 internal drives to the gray SATA jacks, connect SATA 3.0 drives and opticals to the blue SATA jacks, and connect the eSATA cable to a blue jack. Leave the dark blue jacks alone, that's the Marvell controller and it's crap. If you use the rear panel eSATA jack, you have to install the JMicron driver.
I fixed your sig for you. |

I was following this STEP 14 : Install the CD-ROM(s) | PCMech
except some some steps that are not right like placing your mobo on stop of the bag it came in and a couple of other error steps that needs to be check on. |

For bench testing before you put it in the case (which is a wise thing to do), do not put the mobo on the anti-static bag....you might short it out if you do.

Yes, that validates the psu, mobo, cpu, and ram. Now you can assemble it.

I have 2x USB2.0 on front I/O panel link to one cable, does it matter if I connect it on either of USB 2.0 connectors (10-1 pin USB78, USB910, USB1112) on my mobo?

Whats your motherboard manual say? Just testing you to see if you are reading it.
![]() Any of those are fine to plug into. Those are just the port numbers. Just make absolutely sure you do not plug it into the firewire (ieee 1394) port. Firewire is being phased out BTW. What a crazy idea it was to make the USB and firewire the same pin configuration. Last edited by David M; 08-13-2011 at 09:50 PM. |
