Laptop selection help

Im lookiing to buy another laptop and I could use some advice. The one we have has been great. It does everything we need it do, but it does not have a standard keyboard. "No10 Key" Our current Laptop is an ASUS with Intell Core 2 Duo T6400@2.0GHz, 4GB ram 220GB HD and NVIDIA Geforce 9300M GS. 14 inch display ASUS Notebook N80Vb/N80Vm series. I would like to buy another ASUS but Im open to other brands. I only want another laptop because we need 2 and we need 1 with a 10key. A bigger display wolud be ok but not really needed. Something between 14'' and 17''. Thanks for your advice.

Laptops with separate 10 key numeric pads are hard to find.

I dont want one with a seperate 10 keypad. I just want the standard keyboard. The laptop we have now only has number keys across the top. It does not have numbers in 2 places like a standard keyboard. Sorry for the confusion.

Which web sites and brands have you looked at so far?

Is plugging a standard keyboad to the lappy out of the question?

That is what I meant. Very few laptops have the second set of keys. You can either plug a standard keyboard in, or you can buy a number pad that plugs in. You can also use Numlock, and that switches some keys in the middle of the keyboard over to numbers, those are the keys that have small blue numbers on them.

Take a look at the Lenovo laptops. I've sold several of the G series laptops this summer and they all came with the numbers on the right. Here's a link to what's currently available at Newegg.

I have currently had 2 people buy these and they are really, really nice. I am looking into getting one for my wife if this hand-me-down laptop doesn't play nice.

Only thing I dont like about those cheaper laptops is the 5400 RPM hard drivers, they really kill the performance. Otherwise you are right that is a good laptop for general use.
