New build

Hi all,

Been a while and glad to be back.
Well I need a new gaming rig and I could not pass up all this new tech that the Z68 chip set has to offer.

I have pretty much settled on the Mobo, P8Z68 Deluxe. bu ASUS. But looking at the CPU I find that there is Two that fit the bill , but both at a different price.

Now I did look around but I could not find a diff in performance. I hope you all can.

I do plan for duel vid's and some nice ram, dvdburner, 1 mech HD and 2 SSD.

Would a 1000watt PS be too much?

Thanks again all
Much apprech

The "K" series processor has an unlocked multiplier for easier overclocking and a stronger onboard video. Other than that, no difference.

Get a certified power supply for the card pair you are going to get.

If you're looking to game only, it's recommended you get the 2500k. Only difference is .1 Ghz (unnoticable) and Hyperthreading (doesn't help w/ gaming at all).
Other than that, it's the exact same CPU, and it'll save you $100.

Somehow I don't think budget is an issue with those component choices.

LOL There should be a budget but when it comes to PC gaming, all logical thoughts take a back seat.

Thanks for the info and as for the PS, Series Gold CMPSU-1200AX is the one i'm aiming for.

Just don't tell my wife.
