Upgrading PC.

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to upgrade my video card to a GTX 580 for some up-coming games and buy a SSD for my OS plus a few games that I regularly play. I was thinking ~120 GB SSD would be a good size.

How do these look?

SSD: NCIX.com - Buy ADATA AS511S3-120GM-C 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 Sandforce SF-2200 Solid State Disk Drive SSD - AData Technology - AS511S3-120GM-C - in Canada

GPU: NCIX.com - Buy ASUS GeForce GTX 580 Rog Matrix Platinum 816MHZ 1.5GB 4GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Mini HDMI PCI-E Video Card - ASUS - MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5 - in Canada

The SSD seems like a no-brainer considering the incredible deal. Any opinions on the Asus card? I like the overclocking features and its only a bit more than the normal GTX 580. I'm temped to do with the EVGA GTX 580 if only for the life-time warranty though.

Right now I have a TX650 PSU. I was going to have to upgrade it eventually, but would it be worth it to do it now? I already have my CPU overclocked and if I overclock the GPU will it be too much for that PSU?

From what I gather I could also put my EVGA GTX 460 in SLI with the GTX 580 and dedicate the 460 to run PhysX. Is this correct?

Thanks!

Your TX650 can handle a GTX580, but NOT a 460 along with it.

A-Data SSD's have been essentially the same as Intels, but I'm not so sure about the ones with the new Sandforce controller. It's blazing fast, but reliability is questionable. Always keep a backup of it.

How about the S510 ADATA SSD?

EDIT: Nevermind. That uses the same controller. What SSD would you suggest then? The Intel 320 or 510?

For reliability, yes, Intel or an A-Data with an Intel controller.

What Adata SSDs use the Intel controllers? I don't think there are any on NCIX.

I'm going to hold off on a new GPU until the new 6XX and 7XXX series comes out.

I went with the Intel 510 120 GB though!
