Will this Ram work.
I'm going to be ordering this Mother board in 2 or 3 week's and I was wondering will this Ram work with this Motherboard I was thinking of going with 16GB but I think I'm going to stick with 8GB as I don't think I'm going to be needing 16GB.I want to stick with Corsair Ram and this is the olny 8GB set that I can find that is low profile and I need to have low profile Ram as I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 Cooler and I will not be overclocking. When I was looking at getting 16GB glc posted some Blue LP Ram by Corsair but Newegg has nothing in Blue LP in 8GB olny the XMS 3 Ram.

Yes, it's 1.5 volt ram. However, this is also low profile:

glc what is the difference between them just the price mainly,if I remember correctly the Vengance is for overclocking correct and the XMS 3 can be overclocked.

The vengeance is the better ram for the Sandy Bridge mobos because its most compatible with 1.5 V ram. The XMS 3 is 1.65 V ram, but it can be turned down in the bios. Aside from that I'm not sure if there is much more of a difference. At least anything you'd notice.

I think I will get the Vengance Ram,but if you look at the Spec's of the XMS 3 in the link I posted you can see that is is 1.5V as well.

Oh, you're right. I didn't know there were 1.5 V XMS3. I'd stick with the vengeance anyway.

Why are you buying that monster cooler if not going to o/c? I have it and covers most of the MB, but is very nice. I also o/c though

I used an intel fan before and hated it just hated the bloody thing used whir away and it was so bad alot of people including myself thought it truly sound like a gearbox grinding away inside my PC plus I have seen a few intel's that run hotter then I like to see them and although I have seen many run cool when just surfing the net I have also seen them get really hot when put under load.I went with the Noctua NH-D14 for 3 reason's one was because it cool's better then some water cooling system's from what I read number 2 was the price 63 bucks brand new in the box shipped to my door thanks Canada Computers they had a killer sale and number 3 was just for the sheer sake of overkill.I also use my PC for everything Gaming surfing the Net and I do a alot of Video work for my friend and I feel the lower I can keep the heat of the CPU the longer it's going to as well.

Usually if I'm not overclocking, I go with the AC 7 Pro v2 for cooling, it's fairly small, uses a 92mm fan, has much better cooling than any stock cooler and is really silent. I used the first version a long time ago, back when I had a Smithsfield Pentium D (90nm) with a stock cooler that would hit 5000rpm during gaming. The original AC 7 Pro use the same intel socket mounting mechanism, had thermal paste pre-applied and I couldn't hear it even during load. That being said, it's overclocking potential isn't that great if you need to up the voltage since it can't dissipate much more wattage than stock.
