First pc build
I'll start off by saying i have no experience in computer building. So i apologize in advance. If i say something that doesn't make since.
My budget is 1000-1200$ range. Id would like to not need to upgrade anytime soon. I figure less time i spend in side the computer, less likely i am to mess something up. Only time i want to open it. Is if I feel like crossfiring. I will mainly be using the computer for gaming and a little video editing. I want to run 2 monitors, and my TV. Id like to be able too, say run a game on 1 and have something on the other (i.e video, music, webcam ext). This is what i've come up with AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX . If talked with a few friends about this list. They say it will work and its overkill for what i will be doing, but i figure i wont need to upgrade for years. If there is anything They or I have missed please let me know, Or if there is something i could trade out and save a few bucks or get better performance out of. |

Replace the G.skill ram with Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, or A-Data.
Replace the XFX card with Asus, Sapphire, HIS, or Diamond. Note that for 3 displays, one must be run off a DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort with an active adapter. Replace the Coolermaster PSU with a Corsair TX, HX, or AX - or an Antec Earthwatts or HCG. That SSD isn't really big enough for Win 7 and your apps - and we recommend Intel, A-Data, or Crucial for reliability. That's a server hard drive, I would use a WD Caviar Black instead. |

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Replaced the XFX card with a HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT2G2M Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card Newegg.com - HIS IceQ X Turbo H695QNT2G2M Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity replaced the coolmaster psu with CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W ATX12V Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply also switched to the Western Digital Caviar Black Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive The only thing i have a question about is the SSD. I had planed on only using it for my OS and nothing else. could i keep the same size, But switch to a more reliable brand? |

The 750gb WD Black is only $5 more and has twice the cache.
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD7502AAEX 750GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive You may want to go even larger if you are going to be doing video work. It can be a pain trying to install apps on a different drive than the OS - and even if you do, it's going to be putting system files into the Windows folder structure anyway. Newegg.com - Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) |

Id be dumb to not spend the 5$ extra dollars and get an extra 250gb and twice the cache.
what you said about the ssd makes since. i'll go with the 1 you posted. I think there may be a problem with the ram i select though. I've been doing a little research and I've read that i need to make sure the ram and motherboard are compatible. I download a list of compatible memory from ASUS and the model CORSAIR i picked is not on the list. Id like to stay with the 2x4gb stick setup, But there is no 2x4gb kit from any of the brands you suggested on the list. It doesnt look like there is any 2x4gb kit on the ASUS list. Is this because the list is old/outdated, or can the motherboard i picked not run 2x4gb sticks? |

Take the money you are going to spend now and hide it. When you have enough money to order the WHOLE THING, bring the list back up for review and order it all at once. You don't want untested parts sitting around past the 30 day return window, and there's a good chance you may be able to catch something on sale or get better parts by then.

You think it would be ok to order the CPU now. i ask, because i have a 10$ discount code that ends the 10th of this month. Or is there a chance of a price drop between now and black friday? |

Why don't you just wait till Black Friday - Newegg usually marks a whole bunch of stuff down.
