Wait for pci-e 3.0 and AMD Bulldozer?

I'm dying to upgrade my rig but those two things keep me from putting into action, I wasn't paying much attention to pci-e 3.0 but after finding out how much of a performance jump it gives over pci-e 2.0, it became very uncertain on upgrading without pci-e 3.0.

AMD Bulldozer speaks for itself really, it'll change the landscape of CPU race for sure, and possibly with a price range that will be on par with Intel's i7 processors so why not wait you know?

If I hold off on upgrading for these two factors, I might have to wait until next year, so is it worth waiting?

Generally, it is best to re-build when you need to and not wait for what is on the horizon. After the new AMD chip, there will be a new Intel chip, and so on and so on. If you dont need to upgrade then by all means wait and see what developes, but just relize, that when it gets here there will always be something new on the horizon to wait for again.

Couple of other things to think about also:

1. cash flow - If you're looking to build with bulldozer when it comes out. you're going to spend a lot of money on brand new tech.

2. New technology may be buggy - If you get in a hurry to go with the latest and greatest; you may wind up with a few headaches.

If your pc is already doing want you want it to and all your wanting is the new technology when it's released, then you may just need to sit back and relax. Maybe save a few more ducks. (and let others be guinea pigs)

Brand new technology is usually late and quite often has bugs. It is also at its highest price point when first released. Seeing is believing, not promises.

Im still trying to figure out where people are finding these benchmarks or test that show bulldozer being revolutionary.

As far as I know there aren't any benchmarks from any reputable sites on bulldozer, so at this point performance is very much an unknown even though launch date is supposed to be in under 2 weeks.

Regarding PCIe 3.0, at this point in time I think it's pretty much worthless, most video cards even the high end ones (excluding dual gpu) don't even fully use up PCIe 1.0 x16 (or PCIe 2.0 x8), main reason i'd see PCIe 3.0 as being useful is if you're running a very high end computer with many graphics cards and the the PCIe lanes have to be split (like most lower end crossfire motherboards split a PCIe 2.0 x16 into two PCIe 2.0 x8).
