No, only if you are doing modifications. Everything is either placed in slots, screwed in or plugged in.
The only thing I would change in your PartsPicker list is to change out your Ripjaws RAM for this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233196 Consider this PSU... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139020

I'd get that 1 tb drive immediately before it goes up in price.

You should get corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 1.5v ram. It is the preferred memory and features XMP.. It is also perfectly stable with that chip-set as well.
A good video card would be a EVGA GTX560 on the NVidia chip-set or a HIS or ASUS ATI Radeon 6950 on the AMD Chip. Match your video card with a Corsair TX, HX or AX series 650W, or Antec Green 650W, or an Antec High Current Gamer 650W, or a Seasonic X650 gold. Asus, Sony, or Liteon DVD drive. |

Ok. Guess I'll wait.
Here's my updated list. http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ Any other changes needed? Just got some questions. How often do companies release new better parts? And how long could I use this setup without updating anything. Last edited by Danjarus; 11-13-2011 at 07:27 PM. |

No need to spend that much money on a PSU.

With the money you saved on the PSU you could get a GTX 570 if you want to play BF3 on near max settings. You won't have to worry about MW3 though. I play it on max settings with a GTX 460.

Buying a larger SSD, like a 120 GB Intel 510 series and installing the OS / applications will give you the best possible performance. You then could buy a larger Sata III mechanical drive like the WD Black for data. Naturally, this is the most expensive scenario.
The smaller 64 GB or less will give you a caching drive. You will need to install drivers (cd with motherboard) and a setup in the BIOS to take advantage of the Intel Smart Response Technology. This is an advantage of the Z68 Chip-Set but it is not quite as fast as the larger SSD scenario. |

Only load times, not game frame rates or settings. Faster graphics cards do that.

I looked at your build - I'm working on my own - and just thought I would point out that the HDD is not available at Office Depot. I had tried to grab the same one but when you try to load it into your cart it says, "insufficient stock."

Danjarus-
Your CPU comes with a CPU cooler. Do you plan on overclocking out-of-the box? |

No, retail CPUs come with a factory Heat Sink/CPU Cooler.
My personal preference is to use the factory heat sink at first, to ensure the cpu is working with the rest of the system (CPU manufacturers prefer this also). I'll leave it there for the life of the system, unless one of two things occurs: 1. I'm going to overclock and anticipate the need for better cooling. 2. IF the Heat Sink Fan is the loudest part of the system and I want to quiet things down, I'll specifically look for a cooler with a large fan and rated for lower noise. The one that comes with the CPU is more than sufficient for most users, is small enough to fit in nearly any case, and will usually handle a minor overclock with ease. |

No, extended warranties are a huge profit maker, meaning they are overpriced for what you get. This is why extended warranties are pushed so hard by retailers.
