First build help.

I'm gonna build my first gaming rig soon and I need help deciding what parts to use. This is what I picked out.

Mobo- ASUS M5A97 EVO
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 970 BE
Case- Antec 300
Ram- Corsair Vengence (2X4GB)
PSU- Cooler Master GX 750W
GPU- Sapphire Radeon 6950 2GB
HDD- Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB
Disc Drive- ASUS Internal DVD Burner

With the Keyboard, OS, and Shipping it's $1,040.14 USD.

Can I play most games on High settings, and are there better cheaper parts? Let me know, thanks.

I'd go for a better quality PSU, such as a Corsair TX or Antec Earthwatts/HCG.

With that graphics card you will do quite well but you will not be able to run at max settings in all games at 60 FPS. For most games, yes. The difference between medium-high and the highest settings is pretty minimal so I wouldn't worry about any shortcomings. For the money I think it is a good card.

I'm mainly gonna play Minecraft. Should I save a little money and downgrade?

you have to flash the BIOS and will void the warranty on the card:
AMD Radeon HD 6950 to HD 6970 Mod | techPowerUp

As always, flashing any BIOS is a risk. Yes it will make a noticeable difference.

If you've got it to spend-I wouldn't. You may regret it later. Better to be a little over than anybit under.

What's a card that's cheaper than the 6950, but is still good?
