GLC,
thanks for your quick input. Very thoughtful of you to source Canadian parts. If I can squeeze another $100 out of the pay master where should I invest the cash? CPU? MOBO? GRAPHICS? Thanks, H. |

CPU and ram. That would get you an i3 and 8gb.
NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core i3 2120 Dual Core Hyperthreading Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 3MB - Intel - BX80623I32120 - in Canada NCIX.com - Buy Kingston ValueRAM 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1333 CL9 240-PIN SDRAM - Kingston - KVR1333D3N9K2/8G - in Canada The 6770 video card can handle just about any game you can throw at it except the very graphics-intensive ones. |

I like glc's build. A little more balanced. I am not fond of that board from experience. That G CPU is underrated for the price.

Memory should be installed in pairs for best results, and if you really want a motherboard upgrade, get an Asus P8Z68-V LE or LX.

Gentlemen,
thanks for your valued input. I am now going ahead with sourcing (likely from NCIX.ca) the parts that glc suggested. Please let me know if you should have any other hints and tips to make this build go easy. cheers, Hal |
