Critique My Build, Please.

Howdy,

Building a highish-priced gaming rig. I'd like to be sure the components I've selected play well together and that there's no item that will hold back the others.

Here's what I've chosen:

1.) Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case

2.) ASUS P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

3.) Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz

4.) CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX750 (CMPSU-750AX) 750W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

5.) CORSAIR DOMINATOR 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

6.) Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

7.) ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk

8.) COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus heatsink

9.) Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - OEM

10.) EVGA 012-P3-2068-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 448 Cores Classified 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5

Total newegg price is $1680 which is right in the wheelhouse of my budget.

Thanks for any/all input.

Looks good to me. You could save a few bucks by going with the i5 - 2500K as most games will not take advantage of hyper threading and the additional 2MB of cache.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping to take this rig 3 years into the future. I was thinking the processor might help with future gaming, but I'll definitely give it some thought.

That is a nice build for sure. If you can afford it, then go for it.

Thanks, GLC. Much food for thought.
