1. You do not need a sound card.

2. A CD/DVD burner makes a lot of sense - you DO need an optical drive of some sort, but I don't recommend a Samsung. You are better off with a LG, Lite-On, Sony, or Asus.

3. I recommend a WD or Hitachi drive over a Seagate.

4. I recommend an Asus monitor over an Acer.

5. If you want an AMD video card, I recommend an Asus or Sapphire over a XFX.

6. I do not recommend a Raidmax PSU - look at a Corsair TX or Antec Earthwatts/HCG.

7. I recommend Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, or A-Data ram.

Biostar boards are okay for cheap boards but I prefer Asus.

I would get a burner - same price as that rom drive. I would also get a board with an AMD chipset, not a Nvidia chipset. I'd only get more fans if you do experience overheating - they are easy to add and the more fans you have, the noisier the system will be.

Newegg.com - ASUS M5A99X EVO AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

1. Not going to get a burner? This is actually cheaper because of the free shipping:

Newegg.com - ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - CD / DVD Burners

2. You should buy a dual channel ram kit, not a single module.

3. The Basiq PSU is okay, but this one is better and is only a couple bucks more after rebate and it has free shipping:

Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
