Gaming PC Upgrade
Well, you all helped me build a great computer a bit over 2 years ago now, and now I feel its time for an upgrade.
I've got about £600 to play with, and originally I was looking to upgrade the graphics card, processor (and by extension motherboard), and RAM. How after poking around the most recent threads and read up on Intel SRT, I'd like to make use of that too. I've had a look around and found these by myself: Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V LX Z68 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard Processor Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz Socket LGA 1155 6MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor Graphics Sapphire HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card SSD OCZ 90GB Agility 3 SSD - 2.5" SATA-III - Read 525MB/s Write 500MB/s RAM 2 x Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz XMS3 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V (16GB total) Total comes to £601.26 Permission to shoot down my choices is granted, thanks

You don't need 16GB of RAM for gaming. I would suggest going with just one 2x4GB pair of RAM.
The money you save there you could put towards upgrading the processor to a 2500K. Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache.. | Ebuyer.com |

Originally I picked out the 16GB since I play Minecraft, and when playing the game with others and hosting the server simultaneously the extra should help.
Though which would be more beneficial, the 8GB of RAM or the slightly faster processor? |

You can get the non-K version of the 2500 for a little cheaper if you plan on NOT overclocking. Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail.. | Ebuyer.com |
