Wrong CPU for motherboard or vice versa.
You want the FM1 board Newegg.ca - BIOSTAR TA75A+ FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard or save a few bucks and use a mATX board (still has 4 ram slots) Newegg.ca - BIOSTAR TA75M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Change your memory to this (1.5V) for stability Newegg.ca - ADATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AD3U1333B2G9-DRH That power supply is fine but I prefer this one.. Note it is more than you need in terms of wattage but the price is better than the lower wattage ones currently Newegg.com - SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply Motherboard comes with sata cables, no need to buy. |

I'm considering buying a 28-32" tv that can double as a monitor. Does anyone have any insights or ideas about doing this?

Looks good. As far as the TV, it looks like for 32" it's slim pickings. 1080P 120 Mhz, hdmi cable is what you want.

I use my Vizio 37" and it works great. I would reccomend looking for a unit that has enough inputs for any thing else you may want to add to the tv. ie dvd player, game units, cable/satelite box
Lower response times are something you'll want to consider when using your tv as a monitor. You'll also want to consider how close the kids wil be to the tv, if they are going to be right up on it, higher refresh rates are better for thier eyes. Less eye strain reduces the chance of tired crabby kids. Oh they will still be tired and cranky, but some people claim they can see the screen flicker at 60Mhz. Moreso if their on top of it. 120Mhz is easier on the eyes and is less tiresome than the standard 60Mhz, but you'll pay for the diference. If you dont want them on top of it, then you may find your self investing in a wireless mouse and keyboard. Worth every penny if you ask me.
