Random Lock-Ups on new build
Can't seem to find a pattern to when it happens. During use, the screen will lock. Some time freezes entirely, other times the mouse cursor will still respond but nothing else, or it may allow me to click buttons and icons but the system won't respond. On one occasion it froze momentarily and then simultaneously executed the several commands I was trying to get it to do.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Should I try the build-it-in-a-box trick or does it sound like a software problem? Thanks in advance! I would run diagnostics on your ram and SSD.

You aren't by chance using a Razer Deathadder as a mouse are you? That was a problem caused by one of their drivers release this past summer and just fixed.

Agree, my guess would be Hard drive (SSD) issues. I see from your list that you just have an SSD. Do you have a "Mechanical" HDD in there too, or SSD only?

Random Stops
Are you Over Clocking anything (memory - CPU - GPU)?
Have you adjusted any of the voltages in the BIOS (changed from default)? What apps are you running at startup? |
