$1500 Intel Gaming build help
Hey. Seeing if anyone can help me out on this. I'm building a new gaming pc and am curious about parts. I have about $1500 budget for computer itself (no periphials). The main things I want for this is:
i7-3770k 3.5GHz processor ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 mobo GeForce GTX 670 gpu 1 tb WD HDD @ 7200rpm Corsair Force Series 3 60gb SSD for OS 8 Gig DDR3 Corsair Vengance Ram CoolorMaster Storm Scout 700W psu Generic BluRay/DVD burner Windows 7 (with upgrade option to 8) Like I said, this will mostly be for gaming purposes. However, I am doing graphic designs for work on it. I also do some 3D design work in AutoCAD and doing an online computer science major, so I want something powerful for the price range. I haven't picked out a tower yet so I still need to find one. Does anyone have suggestions of better parts for the money? Thanks! |

1. Save some money, replace the CPU with a i5-3570K, unless your apps can take advantage of hyperthreading. Games can't.
2. Replace the Vengeance with the low profile version. If you ever need an aftermarket CPU cooler, those fins on the heatsinks can interfere with it. 3. Replace that PSU with a Corsair TX, HX, or AX - or any Seasonic. With that video card, all you need is 500w or better. 4. For reliability, replace the SSD with an Intel 330 or 520. 60gb is fine for SRT caching, but you need 120gb for a dedicated SSD. |
