I wanna build a Power Laptop, but have no clue on what I'm doing!
Okay, I've been thinking about it ever since I bought my (Yes, I know! I was stupid to buy it because of it's age!) Toshiba Satellite A105-S2071 that I want a better pc. Well, I think I've decieded to build one but have NO CLUE how! Don't know if it exactly helps at all, but I'll tell you the specs I want -
Intel i7 Processor - Min of 3.0GHz 6gb or more DDRM3 RAM - Don't know which Fequency 320gb HDD - Need's to be decently fast 720p or 1080p HD Supported Graphics with HDMI Output - For my Gaming Life 15in or more Screen - Need's to be a decent size without a super price. Standard Definition is fine since I'll use my HDTV alot And that's what I want for specs. The reason I want these's specs are - 1) I'm am building a big 3D Based Game called Sandbox and need a Power PC to support the Graphics. 2) I tend on doing some 3D Rendering on this Computer so I can make models for my game. 3) I love to play Minecraft and some other games and this current laptop barely support's it on the lowest graphics! 4) I need it to be a Laptop so I can take my work where ever I go. I would go with a Desktop but Remote Control doesn't exactly allow you to play games on the other end... 5) Just so I have a decent machine... I know this is going to rank up around $600 - $1000 and I'm willing to work for it. I just need a Portable Machine with Power to do my Games and my Game Under Construction. Any references I can be redirected to for help on this? Any advice? Thanks in advance! NetworkLabs EDIT - Sorry for not providing enough info! Here's some more information - I want to go Intel. They have some pretty good stuff. I do want to attempt to run XP but I really don't want a Floppy Drive, so unless there's any other way, I guess I'll go with Windows 7. (Reason I don't want Windows 7 is because of the 1GB it uses to power it. Windows XP only requires a very low 257mb... I think that's the amount) And that's all for now... More to come if necessary... Last edited by NetworkLabs; 07-09-2012 at 11:11 AM. |

It is almost impossible to build a lap top. There are some kits available, but generally if you want a powerful gaming lap top you would be better off buying one built by a professional service. You just can’t build one as good for the same price.

Oh... Okay.. Well, I guess I could go with a Power Desktop... Could always use a Server. But first priority is my laptop. I guess I'll open another thread when I'm ready to get advice on building my Desktop. Thanks for telling me that!
