Talking My first build attempt, suggestions please!

"To Legit 2 Quit"

This is my first PC build. I am looking to use it for gaming. I don't have a particular game in mind I want to start with as I usually stick to sports games like "Madden" on PS3. Some friends who PC game have finaly convinced me to give it a try, so here I am. Be brutal about the build I've put together as I expect it to change numerous times before its ready for purchase.

Thanks

How brutal do you want it? The link you provided takes me to a blank page. Well it does take me to uthink, but the build page is empty.

This is way too open for ugly.

My apologies, I didn't have my profile setting correct. I'm just getting used to the Uthink site, I will repost my build page shortly so you can see the direction I'm going in, which I warn you may be nowhere fast, lol. Thanks!

Those prices are ridiculous - are you sure those are US dollars? I get $1140 without OS or keyboard/mouse. You forgot a case. Here is what I'd get with that budget, it's also $1140 (after rebates) including a case and every single component is better than what you chose:

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Black SECC/ ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply

Newegg.com - ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Newegg.com - MSI R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Newegg.com - ASUS VS Series VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 50,000,000:1

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 2011/1366/1155 and AMD FM1/AM3+

I would use the money and follow GLC's advice. If you just want an AMD build let us know and we can help. The components in your build aren't bad choices, there's just better ways to spend your money and better choices for an AMD build. Intel really just 'owns' the market for performance.

-I would agree the prices are too high.
