Can this hadle what I want it to?
Hello everyone, first time poster and computer builder here and I had a few questions before I committed myself to building a computer. ok so the spec are-
P.S. I have a monitor mouse and keyboard I can use and it will be running on Linux Zorin OS 6(IDK what version yet) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz Dual-Core Processor ($128.17 @ Compuvest) Motherboard: ASRock H61M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($51.97 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($25.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital RE2-GP 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7750 1GB Video Card ($104.98 @ NCIX US) Case: Xion XON-180 ATX Mid Tower Case ($24.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair 430W ATX12V Power Supply ($24.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($17.98 @ Outlet PC) Total: $449.06 (Prices include shipping and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-08-08 00:05 EDT-0400) Now what I will be wanting to do with this computer is, running google chrome(with up to 10 tabs open), skyping around 2 or 3 people at once, playing Minecraft(on a server) and running a back-ground program or two(security like). Also, if any of this needs improving then I can go up to $500(or $550 if it is a good system/deal(But I'd prefer the lower end of that.). |

The 1 TB HDD isn't really necessary since he's on a budget and I have never found myself going beyond 500 gb (yet). And for heavy multitasking you might want to upgrade to CPU to a quad core i5 but if that costs too much you should get an AMD processor which should be cheaper but you'll have to change the motherboard.

Actually that CPU might be fine because I have a stinky laptop with Radeon HD 4200 integrated and Athlon II X2 M300 2.0 GHz Dual Core and I run Minecraft on a server with 3 Chrome tabs and Skype at the same time.

I hope you were referring to my suggestions - an Asrock is far from being an excellent motherboard!
