My first build

My main intent with this build is photo editind along with some light video editing using Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended along with probably running a flight simulator (not all at the same time though)

Here is a list of what I have decided on so far,
SILVERSTONE RAVEN Series RV03B-WA Matte Black with Gray Trimming, Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Newegg.com - SILVERSTONE RAVEN Series RV03B-WA Matte Black with Gray Trimming, Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Picked this case becaust it seemed plenty roomy with good air circulation and a minium of LED's. I DO NOT want to use liquid cooling.

ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Newegg.com - ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
I picked this motherboard because for what little I know it seemed to be specced pretty good for what I want.

I will be using it with this CPU:AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX
Newegg.com - AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX
And this CPU cooler, Don't like the one that comes with it,
COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910-HTX3-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" 92mm CPU Cooler Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910-HTX3-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" 92mm CPU Cooler

And this video card, I intend to run anywhere from 1 to 3 monitors, Usually 2 though.
EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Newegg.com - EVGA 02G-P4-2680-KR GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Going to use at lest two Westeren Digital black lable HDD's 1 terabyte for the OS and programs and one or two 3 terabyts for storage/scratch discs for editing in photoshop, One question is would it be a good idea to use a SSd for the OS and programs and the others for storage? Would I gain any speed/reliability?

Going to use this for an optical drive.
LG Black 14X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA BDXL Blu-ray Burner, Bare Drive, 3D Play Back (WH14NS40) - OEM
Newegg.com - LG Black 14X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA BDXL Blu-ray Burner, Bare Drive, 3D Play Back (WH14NS40) - Blu-Ray Burners

Using these for RAM.
CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory Model CMZ32GX3M4A1600C9

And powering the whole thing with this.
CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Newegg.com - CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

It might be a bit of overkill but as far as I can tell Corsair has a good reputation and that's a bit of peace of mind.
I already have a monitor and keyboard/mouse I intend to use so I am good there.
So tell me what you think, Will these components play nicely together? What would you change?
Trying to do a bit of future proofing with this thing too.

That is a very powerful build and as you said may be overkill. However, since budget is not a concern, you would be better served from a performance stand point by adding an Intel 520 SSD. 120 GB being the minimum size but considering the Windows Pro 64 bit and Adobe software, you should consider a 240GB model.

You will also want the low profile version of that ram to address clearance issues with that CPU cooler.

Newegg.com - Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSDSC2CW240A3K5 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance LP 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML32GX3M4A1600C10

Thank you

Thanks for the advice jdeb, I figured that if I was going to build one I might as well go as close to full bore as I could afford, Seriously thinking of getting Adobe's master suite for the thing one I get it up and running.
My big concern is making sure all the selected components play nicely together.
Unfortunately I had an encounter with a drunk not long ago so I am having to rethink career direction and am really looking at photo/video edidting and computer illistration.

Little funny

It's sorta funny. I just took the side panel off of my last desktop, A Dell SX2800 and the differences between it and what am wanting to build and it are like the differences between a riding mower and a D8 Caterpillar.
Right now I am using an Asus G73 laptop with a WD black 750 GB HDD in the extra drive bay.
Running an extra display with it, Only problems I have is when converting photos from raw (slows down) or editing video. (go eat dinner, Take your time)
Runs Microsoft flight simulator decent though.
