Gaming/Video Editing Computer

Hey guys, I'm in need of some help for building a gaming and HD Video editing computer.

I know the basics of hardware and building a custom, but no clue as to what is best for my scenario.

I'll need everything (mouse, monitor(s?)etc) except speakers.

As for the budget, I'm looking to spend under $3000, and if possible under $2500.
I want it to be as cheap as possible but without hindering it's capabilities.

This is just under $2000 without a keyboard/mouse, I'd pick a set at a local shop after trying them for operation and comfort.
