It will just exhaust the warm case air out of the back instead of cooling the radiator that you are going to throw away. You could even get a stock intel heatsink from ebay for next to nothing instead of an aftermarket one.

Would this do it? Intel Stock Heat Sink | eBay

Probably not, that doesn't look like it's for Socket 1366. This one is:

New Intel LGA1366 Core i7 Fan Heatsink Combo Heat Sink LGA 1366 E29477 002 | eBay

Yeah, you don't really need a Hyper 212 but it may impress a buyer who may want to try overclocking.

Can I overclock this one myself or the PSU might fail?

Sorry for being annoying, but why can't I keep existing liquid cooled fan?

I would not recommend you overclock it, I would recommend you get rid of it as soon as you can, and I wouldn't take a chance with that liquid cooler after all that damage. The build I recommended in your other thread will handily outperform this computer, even without overclocking.

IMO, the AIO water cooling setup could be damaged enough to not show up for a short period of time. If it is then it could spring a leak and ruin some of the components in the case, namely the mobo and or the video card. Plus another thing is the loose wire from the cooling fan that you can't figure out where it went. I can't see where it would have plugged in either based on the pictures. Normally they are on a 3pin or 4pin fan plug, which would get connected to the pump assy, another fan header on the mobo, or a fan controller. It kinda looks like it it was connected close to where you saw it laying since it's under a zip tie on another cable. I'm thinking it was wired in directly to the heatsink/ pump but without knowing who makes it or a model number it's hard to determine how it was supposed to be hooked up. It would be easier to omit the water cooler and get a stocker since you plan on selling it. No reason to make it better for someone else except for marketability purposes. You also have to consider a return on that thing too if the water cooler were to spring a leak the day after the new owner took possession of it. Then you would have to deal with that headache on top of everything else. Better to cut loose any unknowns and go from there.

Hey GLC,

I am reassembling the whole system in new case. I have also got a OEM INTEL stock cooler. Now, do I need to apply thermal compound (I don't have it) or just install the fan on top of the cpu?

If the heatsink surface doesn't have a patch of compound on it, you need to get some. You may be able to scrape the compound off the water block and the top of the CPU to reuse it if you absolutely have to.

Thanks, that's what I did. Sunday I will list it on eBay. After it's sold, I will bring up my post of "New Build".

OK,

It seems like it's all ready to on the market .
The only one thing bothers me is that power cable 8 pinner can't reach all the way around the GPU, so it's stupid looking (look at the picture please). Is there a trick how to hide it?

Thank you

If you don't have the motherboard manual, download it - and verify the correct header. There are 2 different ways of doing it - HD Audio and Legacy AC97 - what is set in the bios must match how you cable it.

There are 2 different settings in the bios for sound - HD Audio and AC97. HD Audio is preferred. There are also 2 different ways to wire the front panel, some cases have 2 different connectors labeled as such. Some motherboards have 2 separate headers, one for each. Other boards have 2 different ways to connect a single header.

I have a single connector "audio" from the case and it seems like only one header JAUD1

There may be a jumper or multiple headers on the audio panel itself in the case.

Do you have sound at the rear panel jacks?

You can route it under the GPU card. Right near the slot bracket and between that and the card slot is a cut out area that is just the right size for that cable. You have to pull the card(s) up and out of the way somewhat to get the connector under it. Whatever you do be gentle in this area so you don't accidentally snag something on the cable sleeving. Then you will have plenty of length to get to the EPS socket. You can just tuck the rest of the excess behind the PSU if needed.
