Do you have it set for AC97 or HD audio?

it should automatically be set for HD Audio....

you can set the sound properties by right clicking on the Speaker and select playback devices. Then on the Output (speakers) highlight it and select properties...

In there you can set the quality rate via the Advanced tab as well as any Enhancements on that tab. For me I always select Loudness and Bass Boost

Okay, Ill have to check that out.

Will this also effect how I hook up my microphone and headphoone jack on the front of my case? I haven't hooked them up yet. I have a Nemesis Elite Series Guardian Gaming Case. When I had the Asus P5B board in it, I could never get those two jacks to work no matter how I put those small plugs in. Im asking because I notice on the manual it had plugs for "legacy 97" and "HD audio" or something like that.

Okay

Okay then if HD audio I'm not sure where to plug the pin connectors too....
The pins are as follows on my motherboard...

HD compliant pin definition
PORT 1 L
PORT1 R
PORT2 R
SENSE SEND
PORT2 L
SENSE 2 RETUR
SENSE 1 RETUR
NC
AGND

for the legacy 97 pin definition the pins are as follows
MIC 2
MICPWR
line out R
NC
Line out L
NC
NC
NC
AGND

The pins from the nzxt case are

R out
L out
Ground
Mic2R
Mic2 L

I'm guessing that these won't fit the hd connections? What is e correct pin configuration for this motherboard?

Most cases come with one cable with two plugs on it, one plug will say hdaudio and the other will say ac97, in the MB book it shows where to plug either one. My case front headphone and mic work perfect with my lk board.

It should look like that.

for easy of use I wouldnt use the front jacks.... they can be more trouble than worth. out of all the cases I've had only one works like it should. Most the jacks are cheap and dont connect right and if a board uses Creative drivers it can be a bear to get working right....
