asus mobo quality? Or mobo recommendation....

I grabbed a i7-3770K for $229 at Microcenter a couple of weeks ago.
I was going to stick it on this mobo some of the gang here recommended.

ASUS P8Z77-V LK ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

I'm looking at the newegg reviews and so many people got boards with DOA components or bent pins. I can see bent pins but diagnosing faulty components on a board may get above my computer building skills. I haven't built one in 10 or 12 yrs and I always plugged things together and they friggin just worked. :) I always used Asus too....some of the reviews sound like asus is sending out bad boards.

Should I just ignore the bad reviews and move ahead. I just want a plug and play mobo that is reliable in this price range to stick that I7 on. Is this my best bet or is there something else I should look at?.....and yes I know the components I use have to be compatible. :)

thanks

Haven't heard of any consistent complaints here with that board.

Many, if not most of the times reviews are written by disgruntled folks who had a bad experience, even with restaurants. If I'm ticked I'm more likely to write something negative than to brag about how good something is. Therefore you may read a bunch of negatives and think the product, or restaurant, is sorry.
