cpu stepping...?

What is the difference in cpu stepping especially for the mobile cpu?

I have a mobile 2600 and stepping AQYHA

and some people have IQYHA and say it's better

what are the differences in these steppings?


I have read that the AQYHA will do almost 2.6

while the IQYHA will do more like 2.7-2.8

or I should ask what is the stepping of a cpu???? does it have to do with the multiplier?

I dont know really, all i know is that the AQYHA will get 2.4-2.5 with good cooling according to some people.. and the IQYHA clocks slightly higher, people have been getting 2.5ghz out of it in forums that ive read with just 1.75 Vcore and easily on air cooling plus some people have even got to 2.6 with a decent hs and fan.. now that is cracking, if only excaliber site will ship my order soon instead of waiting ages for crappy paypal.. grr

Someone got to 2.7Ghz with water cooling too btw, i cant believe that much though.. water cooling is just as effective as the SLK-900U from what ive seen when i used my waterchill a year ago.

That is why i went to excaliberpc.. they have a guaranteed stepping for their 2600 mobile bartons of the IQYHA, worth paying slightly more in dollars for the shipping just for that, from now on.. i research everything before i buy a product, and that is what i have done.. so far.. so good ( i hope )

I saw in ocforums.com that someone got 2.8 out of a 2600m with 3700ddr at 2,2,2,6......I think it may be hype but they posted it....

I also did alot of checking on the AQYHA and seems like all were hitting 2.6 easy......but, the IQYHA were all hitting 2.7 and 2.8

I would like more info though
