There used to be a guide on this site, not sure if it's still available. Try searching on google. You can get support on this forum. What are you not sure about? I can help you.

Intel is probably one of my weaknesses. I'm an AMD guy!

Search the site using the search function and the guide appears. If you have any problems, just private message Tin Canary to ask for help...
![]() I didn't think Intels o/ced that well, and with a 2.4 you really shouldn't need to o/c at the moment |

With good cooling setup, and a good HSF, 3.0GHz or a little higher is not out of the question on air cooling with that setup. That would probably require a voltage increase to be stable, which is a gamble with northwood cpu's.

Prescotts run hotter but are supposed to overclock better than a northwood. There is no real performence difference until you overclock the prescott though.
Also the prescott has 1mb of L2 chache and northwood has 512 k of L2. |

If you plan on doing heavy overclocking get the prescott as long as you have good cooling and a good heat sink and fan. If you plan on doing slight to moderate overclocking you'd be fine with the northwood.
As for the cache you'll have to wait for somebody else to answer that, I'm not exactly sure what it is either. |
