My next moddin' case.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...125-467&depa=1 check that thing out. its HUGE and has 6 fan ports. 3x 80mm front intake, 2x 80mm rear exhaust, and 1x 120mm rear exhaust. i may order it in a couple of weeks. once i get it, im going to remove the front panel and sandblast the frame, doors, and top. i plan on adding 2 windows, one in proximity to the motherboard, and the other in proximity to the rear mounted hard drive rack. i would like to paint the frame of the case a deep purple, with purple UV reactive coating on the inside. the exterior will be painted triple gloss black. as for the fans, i wish to use purple UV w/o LEDs so it just has a nice mellow glow. maybe i will go with a different color combination. what else would look good together?

Thats a beast of a case Tin, plenty of cooling.

Think painting the inside of the case UV reactive will look cool, the only thing is if you were to use LED fans it masks some of the UV effect so it does'nt look as good. What about painting the outside of the case very deep purple as it may be fitting with the interior, but im sure gloss black will look great.
Think of all the polishing ahead of you.

LOL indeed.... gloss black will be a bit of a bugger to keep shiny I reckon, if going by polishing my parade shoes is anything to go by.
And huge is an understatement... it's gargantuan

with that case you could easily mod it to hold 2 PSU's...
One for the Mobo and main componenets and then one for just the "pimp" products, fans lights, ect.
it can go right above the normal PSU spot... in the fan spot.... then you could cut a blowhole for the top in its place.

i seen that case and my jaw dropped. it has waaaay too much potential. im scared to see how heavy it will be. im not going to use LED fans in it, just straight up UV reactive fans. i like the gentle glow the UV fans have in conjunction with UV CCFL lights. i also like the idea about modding it to use 2 PSUs, phase change cooling or a prometia would be right at home in that case.

Nice case. One of the main reasons I bought the Antec P-160 was the sideways mounted HDD racks. I think you will like those alot. If you put the cable connection in the back it helps manage the wireing also.

Maybe you could try regular paint on the inside then do a graphic in the UV paint (flames, lightning or some such). Then the graphic would light up on the plain paint background.

The case is big enough that instead of a door you could practically have a flat panel monitor mounted to the side.....lol.

LOL! Man, looking at thing is like looking at a huge blank canvas, that or my locker in high school.

If I brought that thing in my house my wife would make me move into it.

That thing is huge! I like the idea of putting a design in it with the UV paint so that just the design lights up. That would be sweet. To me it looks like its begging for a sweet water cooling setup with a huge rad Have some purple UV reactive dye in the water of the water setup and that would look sweet glowing along side the UV reactive paint design. I like the purple/ glossy black paint matchup tho, that should look slick.

After having read of Tin Canary's OC'ing exploits I wouldn't doubt that water cooling may be a distinct possibility......

Hey TC, the interior of that thing is big enough that you can make a little side money when you're done. With all the fans installed and running, a NASCAR team could use it as a wind tunnel to test aero on their cars!!

Not sure yet. Now that I see that one Tin found I kinda like it. That thing is freakin huge! When I found the one I posted it was the biggest one I had yet found. The best thing about the one Tin found is that it actually has front fan ports, the one I found doesn't.

LOL, can't be any worse than my old Thermaltake. If you like to lan though, you might want to have a smaller maching for partys. My big case and 19" monitor are a little much for carrying all over the place.

nah im not a lan party kinda guy....not enough women and alcohol for my liking . i think this big chenming case will go a long way though, its going to be fun modding this one. im going to get 2 black vantec nexus fan controllers, and maybe a 3rd controller for my UV lights lol.

Some great ideas tin. I painted the inside of my Xaser Black, i went over to my cousins body shop and did it there, if you have acess to the things they have at body shops then do it there man, it comes out perfect.

Also dont worry about weight, I put my xaser (with everything in it) on a scale just to see.....Weighed 67 pounds

TC- If you do end up watercooling I was wondering the other day if it would be possible to mold in a automotive water temp gauge. I was thinking of the ones that come in the aero looking surround and mount on the b pillar (between the front windshield and door glass). I guess you could pipe it into the water supply. Might look kind of cool molded into the top of a case before paint.

turn that into a fish tank! you've got enough space at the top above the psu slot to seal off it's own area and put a small tank in there.

LOL, I saw a computer that a guy did that with one time, only he used his case window instead. It would look cool, but you better hope it never leaks!

Fish tank probably wouldn't be practical for TC. With his oc'ing, he'd try to use the water for his cooling system and cook the buggers!!

the idea about the a-pillar water temp gauge is nice. i have another idea . ill get an indiglo autometer temp gauge and wire it to a molex for the PSU. excellent idea spartan....come to think of it, i have an autometer water temp gauge laying around here from the old car . only thing that sucks is that its not indiglo, but it would still look cool.

Auto temperature gauge, that would certainly be unique. Plus it'd work on 12V OK.

Great Idea

Hmmmm, guages. How bout an Autometer cluster? Add a voltmeter to keep track of psu voltage on a rail of your choice. Maybe even water temp if you go that route. Then of course you need a little decoration for the front. I'd suggest this little gem on an empty bay cover:
