New cube computer

I just finished work on my new computer and wanted to get some input on it. I'm going with all UV lighting, and am going to install a 6" light on the right side to balance out the brightness, as the left side is bright and the right side is now dark.
I am going to take some good lit up pics once I figure out how to have them show up well on my new digital camera.

System specs:
Mobile Barton 2400+ @ 2400 MHz
DFI Lanparty Ultra II Mobo
Aerocool HT-101 heatsink
768 MB PC3200 ram
GeForce4 Ti 4400 128 MB
2 x 160 gb hard drives
4 x 120 mm Antec fans
52x burner
Windowed DVD Drive
Aspire 500 Watt PSU
CubedPC.com 13” Cube case

You can find more pictures here
Here are some pictures:

Both of my computers:

yeah, I did design and assemble it, but the cases are laser cut. I built two acrylic cubes completely by hand 2 years ago, and it took forever and looked nowhere near as good as a laser can make it look.

That looks awesome.

I think I would have to find a choice sticker for the HDD.

keep up the good work.

awesome idea! I have been thinking about how to make the hard drive look better, and the only thing that has come to mind is windowing it, which I think is too risky.
What would be sweet is some sort of green EL design. I'm gonna look and hopefully buy one when I have more than 5 dollars to my name, lol.

Nope, sorry. Aluminum has way too high of fixed costs for manufacturing to make it economical to do in small runs like these cases. The only thing remotly close in aluminum is the U2-UFO which is over two and a half times larger than this case.

A windowed HDD would look nice in that case, that's where I'm planning to go with my next build...I've got an extra maxtor waiting around to go under the dremel any day...

The Fragbox, is that size, has a window and is made of aluminum...it even comes with a 5950 Ultra....

Nowhere near as many fans, and doesn't look anything like that though.

Thanks for the compliments.
I had the case laser cut after designing it in CAD. It is made out of 6mm cast acrylic. I designed the back holes and everything else by using the data sheets available at formfactors.org
The fragbox looks nothing like this case actually, the fragbox is a standard mini-itx shuttle case that has one hard drive, one cdrom drive and one 80mm fan. That is unless im thinking of a different fragbox?

I think you got the right Fragbox. I'm sorry if I offended you, your cube looks really cool. Are you going to put a handle on it? Oh and do you know where I can go to get a laser cut? I need to cut some arcrylic but not for a computer case.

No offence taken. I just realized that you were talking about the small cube I think, thich is actually very close to the fragbox in size (about 10% larger by volume), and looks decently like it. I have plans to produce some clear handles for my 10" cube along with other owners of it. I have all of the pieces laser cut and have a commecial oven, I just need to make a plaster mold to melt the pieces over.
If you just have a small job you are best off going with a local laser cutter. I did a search on google and found about 1000 places that do laser cutting in small runs. Your best bet is to either seach google for laser cutting in your area, or open up the yellow pages and call some places locally.

Ok cool, when I think cube, I think Gamecube. But I wonder if it should be called a cube, It has a handle on it that makes it no longer cubed.... 0_0

Well to be techincal, both cases are .236" off in one dimmension from being a perfect cube, but they are pretty close. If the YY Server CUbe is called a cube, these definatly are cubes as well

What price ranges did you find for your laser cutting?

And was it expensive to get that done?? You implied you got it done with a group of others, did that bring the price down much??
