Non-Refundable HDDs at Newegg

I have had a Raptor in my shoping cart for about 2 weeks. I check my shoping cart every day just to window shop a bit.

Today I noticed that my WD Raptor now stats that it is Non-Refundable. After further review I noticed that ALL Maxtor, Seagate and Western Digital HDD's at Newegg are now listed as Non-Refundable.

Are they all junk? Is Newegg feed up? Should I still get the Raptor or look for a brand that it accepted by Newegg?

I think that you should be able to send drives back to the manufacturers, rather than back to newegg. Doesn't sound very helpful though.

Non refundable means you can't change your mind and send them back the drive and get your money back. If you order one and it's DOA they will still exchange it for the same item.

That sounds promising Red however I can not find any text at Newegg referring to this. Only the item tag makes any sense.

**NON-REFUNDABLE ITEM.Warranty is provided through product Manufacturer Only!

I just saw that The tags used to say exchange for same item only. I stand corrected.

**NON-REFUNDABLE ITEM. Exchange for same Exact Item Only! That's what they used to say, still do on more expensive video cards and other stuff they don't stock many of.

I doubt that - I'm guessing that they are getting way too many returned drives, or the manufacturers are rewriting their RMA rules for distributors, or both.
