Refurb LCDs

I'm thinking about getting a pair of LCD monitors, problem is, new ones are a bit out of my price range.

Has anyone had experience with refurbished hardware, especially LCDs, from newegg.com or other retailers? I bought a used CRT from a computer fair once and it has lasted several years, but I don't know if used LCDs are equally reliable.

I don't see why a refurbished LCD wouldn't be reliable. At the very most it would haev a couple of dead pixels. But I doubt it.. It isn't too common from what I have seen. Be careful though, it is a lot easier to damage an LCD than a CRT.

I'd buy it, Refurbs have a small warranty. I'd take the risk if the savings are great.

eBuyer has some 15" ones going from £175 visit http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...=ASC&offset=10 for some. Although thats only a £25 saving off buying a new one.

ahh good old ebuyer for cheap tat .. (not that thats badddd).. hmm not really a great saving though, i'd have hoped for a bit more, considering it limits your choice so much, and increases chance of dead pixels.
the link didn't work (?)

Well for the sake of £25 i'd rather have the longer warranty at that price, especially with an LCD. Now if it had been £50+ cheaper I would go for it.

I'd like to be able to save at least 20% off the original price otherwise I feel it's a ripoff.
