Great place to buy LED's

http://www.quickar.com/discrete.php?session=
I ordered from them and had a problem with shipment..(not their fault) and they resent my order to their loss.... they were great about keeping in contact and theyre prices are hard to beat from what I've seen...

The minimum quantities are a bit higher, but I've bought a fair amount at Chi Wing's ebay shop, I found their blue and white LED's to be very good, but their red's were a tad more orange than I would have liked. You also get resistors for very cheap.

I've also heard good things about this ebay shop, although I've never ordered from them.

Mattg2K4, the reason the red's may look a bit more orange may be that the voltage to the LED/forward current may be too high. Not all LED's follow standard specs (i.e. 2V 30mA) it may be the series resistor value is too low, I always calulate them out from the LED's specs and then round up to the nearest obtainable value.

JPmiller - Check out my other thread:

Kingbright (LED manufacturer) do a student pack which has a great assortment in it (costs around £8). There must be somewhere over there that sells this pack
