How Many Peripherals(CD-ROMS, etc) can you put on a 230V power supply before you suck it dry? And can i buy a Y adapter of some kind to make 2-4post plusg out of one?

Yes you can purchase the adapters at most computer stores, Radio Shack, Best Buy etc...
As far as how many devices for the power supply you mentioned. I have no idea, but you should be able to have atleast 2. Depends on what other kinds of hardware you have. I say go for it. |

my previous system was an AMD K6-233 w/ a 230w PS. Here's what I ran on it: 3 PCI graphics cards for 3 monitors, an ISA sound card, ISA modem, scsi card, cd writer and cdrom. Occasionally I would lose my cdwriter on boot. When I built my newest system (using the same old 230w PS) this same problem persisted. I replace the PS w/ a 300w and the problem has never recurred. So, I was probably about 1/2 a device over the tolerable limits for stabilty that a 230 could handle.

Each of your devices has its requirements as far as power listed on them. Simply, do the math. Your power supply also has maximums listed.
