I'm at the point in my assembly where I'm trying to load the OS, but I keep getting the message that Win 95 cannot be installed due to an error detected while formatting the prim. hd partition. I tried to do format c:/s, but I got the message 'invalid device parameters from device drivers'. What gives? Is the hd fried?

I assume that you ran FDISK on the drive first. Does it start the format, then give the error or does it spit out the error right away? Did you autodetect the drive in the BIOS and what did it detect as, it may be running with the wrong drive parameters.
