I read a lot of info in here about ISA modems being better than PCI. Why is this? For the past 4 years I hve believed ISA to be old and unstable. Does ISA hand IRQ's better?

The reason you hear so much about ISA modems, is because most ISA modems are hard modems, not winmodems, and most PCI modems are winmodems.
There ARE PCI hard modems around, but hard to find, and fairly expensive, when an ISA modem with the same features is half the price. As far as "old and unstable", the opposite is usually true. |

I agree with reboot. he is THE MODEM MAN! I still use an ISA modem that has no win2k drivers, and it works better than ANY pci modem I have out in my machines!
