I've just got a new pc, and i was tryin to install the hard drive of my old pc in it so i can transfer some data. I've got a gigabyte motherboard, one cdrw, one cd rom, and a hard drive. since there's only three slots on the board, at first i've decide to take the cdrw cable out and put in my old hard drive one. but then i'd realize that when i boot up, it does a cdrw and a cdrom seek first....so i've taken my old hard drive out and replaced the cdrw...i've decide to boot it up to see if everything is alright..but when i turn it on, i can hear everything booting up, but the monitor won't turn on for some reason until 30-40 seconds into the boot.(can't get into bios setup either) All i see though is gray and black lines with a square which is my mouse's pointer....What can I do?? Pls help!!! and also can anyone show me the proper way to install another drive with my current setup? Thanx a bunch!!!

Cool

You new one is set up with the HD as primary master with probably the CD-ROM as slave and the CDR as Secondary master. Your old hard drive is probably also set to master if it was the only HD in your sys. To get up and running set that drive to slave and put it on the available connector coming from your IDE controller. There should be two of those cables, with 2 conectors on each and there should be one connector not used.
