I've built a system with an AMD Duron 800MHz, in a socket A configuration. I put in an ATI XPERT 98 graphics card (it's in the AGP slot, where I have re-seated it several times).
Still, when I power on the system, there is hard drive activity, but the monitor just acts as if it is not plugged in to anything (stays totally blank). I'm very new to this, and I may have overlooked something very minor...where should I start? |

Is the card pushed down all the way? Have you tried a different card (pci or agp)? If, so do you obtain similar results? Also do you get any beeps? Reseat and doublecheck everything, and try to get it to POST with just cpu/video/ram installed. HTH

The video card I was using must have been defective. I replaced it with another, identical card, and it works wonderfully. Thanks for your help!
